Amazon Studios has released the first official trailer for its revival of superhero comedy The Tick. Ben Edlund, creator of the comic book character and the short-lived 2001 series, is back behind the wheel, with Peter Serafinowicz donning the big blue antennae from Patrick Warburton.
As io9 points out, several of the scenes are from the pilot that has already aired at conventions in 2016. Serafinowicz seems to be having incredible fun with the role, playing off Griffin Newman as his meek sidekick Arthur. The official synopsis:
In a world where heroes and villains have existed for decades, a mild-mannered accountant named Arthur has his life turned upside down when he runs into a mysterious blue superhero, The Tick, who insists that Arthur become the brains to his brawn in a crime-fighting duo. Will Arthur resist the call of Destiny or join the fight?
We’ll let The Tick answer this one: “Destiny’s on the line, Arthur. Accept the charges.”
